In collaboration with the Friends of the Charles B. Phillips Library in Newark, the Robert W. Rowe Public Library is planning a trip to Drury Lane Theatre on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 to see the play "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". 10:00am - The bus will leave from the Charles B. Phillips Library in Newark 11:30am - Lunch at Drury Lane 1:30pm - Play begins The bus will arrive back at Charles B. Phillips Library at approximately 5:00pm Price - $57.00 Please call 815-496-2031 to reserve your place. All monies due by Oct. 8th

A vision of the Robert Rowe Library is to preserve, access, and use our local history. We are purchasing equipment and archival products that will preserve historical maps, obituaries, and other history to a new electronic format which can be used by the public. A portrait of General Philip Sheridan was recently donated to the library. General Sheridan was a Civil War general for which the village is named. the portrait was painted by Shane Ward and donated to the library by James Ward. the painting hangs in the library's Community Room.

A new club is starting at the library. On Saturday, Sept. 18 from 12:00 - 1:00pm, kids from 5 to 15 years old can come and build anything they choose using K'nex construction toys. We have several sets that will allow kids to build whatever their inagination invents. Please call to register by Wednesday, September 15th or call 815-496-2031 for more information.
