Important Post About Library Closings

Due to the recent virus, the Robert W. Rowe Library is cancelling all programs and events for the week of March 17 – 21. This includes Sock Knitting Tuesday, March 17, Afternoon Movie, March 17, Herb Program, Wed. March 18 and Preschool Storytime on Thursday, March 19. The library will also be closed to the public Tuesday, March 17 through Sunday, March 22. Staff will be on hand 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday thru Friday if you need to pick up your holds, or would like to get books or DVDS. We will gladly give you curbside service those days and times. You only need to call us ahead of time 815-496-2031 to let us know you are wishing to use this service. We will do our very best to accommodate you. On Friday, March 20 we will reassess and make a decision as to whether we will re-open on Monday, March 23 or remain closed. Please be assured we are doing everything possible to keep both our staff and our wonderful patrons safe and healthy.This includes but not limited to disinfecting all surfaces, books, toys and computers. All overdue fines will be waived on all items through April 30. We also would like to remind you that our E-Book service is available 24 hours a day through our online website and we also have three Little Free libraries, In Serena, next to the Serena Methodist Church, Rt 52, In front of the Serena Fire Department Building in Wedron and behind the Harding Grade school if you would to avail yourself of free books.
